Chandana Sharma Biography

Chandana Sharma is a Bengali actress associated with television and cinema. She acted in 2004 Bengali film Premi in lead role opposite Jeet and Jishu Sengupta. She also acted in 2011 Marathi film Mumbai Mast Kalandar. Chandana has also appeared in a few TV ads of which Airtel aside Shah Rukh Khan is popular. Apart from film roles, she is quite successful in television. Just Mohabbat, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Yeh Dil Chahe More, Home Shanti Home, Dhak Dhak in Dubai, Love Ne Milla Di Jodi etc are her TV appearances. She has also acted in episodic shows - Rishta.com and Ssshhhh...Phir Koi Hai. Her role of Tara in 'Yeh Dil Chahe More' makes her a household name.

Chandana Sharma was born in Mumbai on 7 August 1979. Her father Anil Sharma is a Navy Officer. She is the younger daughter of legendary Bengali actress, Anjana Bhowmick who has been successfully paired with Bengali superstar Uttam Kumar for many movies such as “Chowringhee”, "Kokhono Megh", "Nayika Sambad", "Roudra Chhaya", "Raj Drohi" etc. Her elder sister Nilanjana Sharma is also a Bengali actress, quite popular for playing the female lead in the popular Hindi TV series, Hip Hip Hurray aired on ZEE TV. Nilanjana is married to noted Bengali actor Jishu Sen Gupta.

After playing bit roles in ‘Dil Se Dosti' and 'Ayushmaan', Chandana made her acting debut through the TV show Just Mohabbat which aired on Sony TV. She played the supporting role of Jai's love interest, Aditi in this popular show. It was followed by Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin opposite Vishal Singh where she played the role of Diya; and Tara Arora in the serial Yeh Dil Chahe More. She anchored the lifestyle show Home Shanti Home on STAR One. She has also done movies down in the South.
