Biddu Biography 
Biddu is an Indian-born, England-based music composer, lyricist and singer. As a music composer of Indian music, the movie Kurbani and pop album – Made in India are the most popular works. Other works include - Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), Star (1982) and Goonj (1989). His association with Nazia Hassan and Alisha Chinai need special mention. Experimental track ‘Aap jaisa koi’ of Kurbani (1980) still remains as a wonder among music listeners. He is always regarded as the pioneer of fast tracks and disco. He is a doyen of Indi-pop and Euro disco as well. His records have always broken several collection records. Grammy and Ivor Novello awards are the most popular awards received by him. Shweta Shetty, Sophie Choudry, Shaan and Sagarika are other big names that are associated with Biddu’s Indi pops.
Biddu was born in Bangalore, Karnataka in the year 1944. During 1960’s, he moved along with a singing band to England. He became successful with a hit song for Japanese band The Tigers in 1969. Soundtrack for 1972 British film ‘Embassy’ set his foot steady in England soil. "Kung Fu Fighting” released in 1974 proved to be the milestone of his career and after that, Biddu didn’t look back. It was the first worldwide disco hit from Britain and Europe. His dancing numbers were sold in Britain and Europe. He soon began producing his own instrumental albums under the name Biddu Orchestra. A new trend of orchestral disco was started in Britain and Europe with 1975.
His association with Nazia Hassan resulted in super hit album – Disco Deewane. He has also done Star/Boom Boom, Young Tarang and Hotline with Nazia Hassan and her brother, Zohaib Hassan. Along with Biddu was equally verse in dance numbers as well as fusions. The album Diamond Sutra was one such which included Sanskrit chants and a painting of Buddha on the front cover of the album.
