Bhanu Uday Biography

Bhanu Uday is a popular television actor who shot to fame after playing the protagonist - Aryan Khanna, the Assistant Commissioner of Police and the leader of the popular crime thriller series - Special Squad (2005). He disappeared from the small screen once the serial was pulled off air. But later he returned to television. Dr. Karan in Sony Pal show Hamari Sister Didi is also his noted work and he has played small roles in Bollywood films. He also remained in limelight when his co-star of Special Squad Kuljeet Randhawa left a suicide note before she ended her life when the show was going on. They remained good friends till then.

The actor belongs to Jammu, born on 16 October 1980 to IAS officer and former Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami. His mother is a lawyer. He later moved to Delhi, where he completed graduation at Hans Raj College. Later he studied acting at the prestigious National School of Drama, Delhi. He made his acting debut through small roles in Bollywood films like Lakshya and Dhokha, followed by a pivot role in the film - Mansoon. However the actor got big break through television roles, particularly Special Squad where he played the male lead. Since his appearance as the male lead in the crime series, the actor was not interested in the family dramas or dragging daily soaps. For the same reason he disappeared from mini screen when Special Squad went off air.

When he made a return to acting, he appeared in a short film directed by Mahesh Bhatt. In 2014, he played lead role in the film – Unfreedom. Now also the actor is stern in the decision that he would never be a part of saas-bahu serials. He acted in "Har Kadam Par Shaque" (Specials @ 10) and Rusky on DD National.  He is married to his girlfriend and co-actor Shalini Khanna since 2014.
