Beena Antony Biography

Beena Antony is one of the senior most television actresses of Malayalam, who started her career in the early 1990’s with Doordarshan serials. She played lead role in several popular serials throughout 1990’s and known for her simple next door girl looks. She is one among the first established television actresses of Malayalam. She has also played supporting roles in many Malayalam movies. She has also appeared in a few ads and television. Godfather, released in 1991 was her debut movie.

Beena is born on 19 January 1972 as younger daughter of Antony & Soshamma in Ernakulam. She did schooling from Guardian Angels UP School, Manjummel, her hometown. In 2003, she got married to television and cine artist, Manoj Nair and the couple has one son. They met for the first time doing a stage show at Mumbai, though they knew each other earlier. They became good friends and soon they fell in love. They got married in 2003.

She has appeared in numerous popular Doordarshan serials till mid-1990’s, which include Oru Kudayum Kunju Pengalum and many more. Ente Manasaputhri, Autograph, Ammakkili, Aalippazham, Indhraneelam, Charulatha, Ommanathingalpakshi, Nirakkootu, Indhira, Sree Ayyappanum Vavarum, Mayaseetha, Ente Alphonsamma, Kunjalimarrikkiar, Ardhachandrante Rathri, Butterflies, Abhinethri, Sarayu, Amala and Velankani Mathavu are among the list. During 1990’s she appeared in many tear jerking and emotional roles.   

Among her popular film roles, her noted supporting roles include – Sthalathe Pradhana Payyans, Pravachakan, Godfather, Agnidevan, Udhyanapalakan, Aayushkalam, Nettipattam, Kanakkattu, Aayushkalam, Kadal, Sukritham, Aadharam and Bandhukkal Shathrukkal. She is a trained classical dancer too and regularly performs in stage shows. She has also hosted many television shows and has also acted as celebrity judge for reality shows. She has also participated in several television game shows.
