Babla Mehta Biography 
Babla Mehta is a bhajan singer and music composer. He is a seasoned playback singer associated with Bollywood too, who has delivered some of the memorable hits. As a playback singer he is best known for the iconic duet from Chandni featuring Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi, Tere Mere Hoton Pe composed by Siva Hari in 1989. He sang this popular duet aside legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar, and it was his debut song as well. As his voice has a close resemblance with Mukesh, he has sung several cover versions of Mukesh hits. In fact Babla began his career recording covers of Mukesh songs for T-Series.
Babla was born into a family of non-music background to Inderjeet and Raj Rani Mehta. However his father was a great fan of Manna Dey, and his passion to music made young Babla a music listener during his younger days. His father worked in bank. Babla started humming and singing in his teens. But he never put up courage to sing on stage. But once he faced humiliation from his college mate for his singing abilities, which prompted him to work hard and sing on stage. That was the beginning.
After studies, he started his career in banking following the footsteps of his father. However he dreamt to become a singer. So he started singing in live music shows. He was once spotted by Gulshan Kumar, known for promoting young talents, and signed him on to cut a disc. He resigned his bank job to become a full-time singer, and later released many music albums, mostly cover versions of Mukesh songs. His talent was noticed by R. D. Burman, who gave him opportunity to perform with him for stage concerts.
Tere Mere Hoton Pe marked his Bollywood debut. Though he made a sensational debut, he sang only a few songs in Bollywood. Tak Dhin Dhin Tak of Sadak, Saari Raat Guzari of Jeene Do, Tu Pyaar Hai Kisi Aur Ka, Galyat Sankali Sonyachi and Adayein Bhi Hain of Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin are a few more.
