Ashwini Bhide Deshpande Biography 
Ashwini Bhide Deshpande is a Hindustani vocalist from Mumbai. She is also associated with Prabhat Samgiita, also known as Songs of a New Dawn or Prabhat's Songs originally composed by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. She follows Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana in her Hindustani rendition, and she is also influenced by the Mewati and Patiala gharanas. Khayal, Bhajans, Thumris etc are different genres of her singing. She holds a doctorate in Biochemistry from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. She also composes musical pieces.
Ashwini Bhide is her maiden name. She was born into a musical family in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She was initiated to the world of Hindustani music at a very young age, and she took formal lessons from Narayanrao Datar. She also completed Sangeet Visharad from the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya before she started learning Jaipur-Atrauli style of music from her mother. She is a brilliant student in studies too, who completed Master’s degree in Microbiology and a doctorate in Biochemistry. She also took Master’s degree in music.
During her academic years with science subjects, she never considered music as her profession. But destiny was something else, and she landed into the world of music and earned fame and popularity too. She doesn’t strictly follow Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana for her renditions. Instead she incorporates a few more music styles such as Patiala, Mewati etc. Thus Ashwini has created her own musical style, and has a strong command on all these three singing styles.
She has created many of her own bandishes, and has published as a book titled Raag Rachananjali in 2004. She published the second volume of the same book in 2010. She is a music scholar blessed with a golden voice.
