Asha G. Menon Biography 
Asha G. Menon is a Malayalam playback singer who shot to fame after the romantic song, ‘Aaradyam parayum’, for the movie – Mazha. The song also bagged her Kerala state award for best female singer. She was only 14 when she sang the most popular romantic track of year 2000, for actress Samyukta Varma, that too, while she was suffering from mild cold. She is also popular as a TV presenter who anchored the successful music show on Asianet – Hridayaraagam for many years. Her Tamil duets with Karthik for the movie Keerthi Chakra (2006), "Pooncholai Kiliye" and "Kaveri Nadiye" were instant chartbusters. The songs were composed by Joshua Sridhar.
Asha G. Menon was born and brought up in Thrissur. Her mother works in a travel agency. Music got associated with her life since young. She did her schooling from Sacred Heart School. She started formal learning in music at the age of 5. She lost her father very young and music served as the best medicine to sorrows for herself as well as other family members. Since young she got opportunity to sing light music in Akashvani radio station. She first sang for M. D. Rajendran for Akashvani, to be released as a cassette and later she received opportunity to perform live with Mohan Sitara, Kaithapram, Yousaf Ali Kechery, Lenin Rajendran, Jayachandran etc. She was also associated with Atlee Orchestra of Thrissur during her younger days.
Her first break to films was through the movie, Neelanjanam, where she rendered her voice for the popular song – Kanner Poovum Kaakka Poovum. Her mother works in a travel agency and it was its owner Karim who introduced Asha to famous film maker Lenin rajendran who gave her the most memorable song of her career. Thus she got the song - ‘Aaradyam parayum’. She sang the song for the lead heroine of the movie, while she was studying in class 9.
