Aparna Panshikar Biography 
Aparna Panshikar is a Hindustani vocalist from Pune, Maharashtra. She also performs in semi-classical music as well as fusion songs, where she combines north Indian classical music with various other genres. She has also released around 10 musical albums which include solos as well as collaborations or jugalbandis. She released her first album in 1999, a jugalbandi with Sudha Ragunathan. "HMV presents a Voice for the New Millennium" (2000), Winds from Ayuta (2002), Diamond Sutra and Punyapur ki Sarita (2003), Shivoham (2005), Reflections of a Purple Moon (2012) and Le Sortilege du Poisson by Trinaad (2017) are other major albums. In Hindustani music, she mostly performs Gwalior school of music.
Aparna Panshikar was born in Pune, Maharashtra into a family with links to music. A few of her family members are associated with performing arts too. She received training in Hindustani music right from the childhood. Pandit Bhaskarbua Joshi, a direct disciple of Pandit Ramkrishnabua Vaze, was her first guru. He trained her in Gwalior gharana. Her mother Meera Panshikar is also a trained vocalist who trains Aparna now. She is married to Nikhil Joshi and the couple has one son.
She made her debut performance at Bharat Niwas Hall, Pune in the year 1985. In 2008 she toured to Afghanistan to perform at their French embassy and at Kabul Cultural Centre for their inaugural year of International Festival of Music. Aparna turned a music composer in 2016 and composed music for an English movie Orpheder the Legend, produced in France. She composed music for two Indian short films: Muskaan (2017) and Skin of marble (2018) and she rendered her voice as well.
