Anurag Kulkarni Biography

Anurag Kulkarni is a popular playback singer associated with Telugu cinema. He shot to fame after winning Idea Super Singer Season 8 (2015) the popular reality show in MAA TV, and very soon bagged offers from movies. He was also the runner-up of Gemini TV’s singing reality show Bol Baby Bol Gurukul in 2014, and has also competed in singing reality shows before. He marked singing debut the same year and owns many hit songs to his credit. He hails from Hyderabad. He sang two memorable tracks for the recent hit film, Mahanadi. He frequently worked with music composer Mani Sharma.

 

He was born in Hyderabad on 7 June 1993. He took formal training in Hindustani music from Kakunoori Jangaiah for 3 years, and mastered Kirana Gharana style of singing. He participated and reached top 9 position in a reality show of ETV Telugu named 'Saptaswaralu ' in 2008. It was his first appearance for a singing talent hunt show. Later he regularly participated in singing talent hunt shows and was declared winner or runner-up. Some of such prestigious shows include - “Idea Rocks India” where he finished as runner-up, winner at Pandit Motiram Pandit Maniram Sangeet Samaroh, Runner-up of Gemini TV’s Bol Baby Bol Gurukul in 2014 etc before he finally won Idea Super Singer Season 8 in 2015.

 

He owns a B. Tech Engineering degree in IT and has also worked for 6 months before he identified his true passion to be singing. He left the job in 2015. Same year he marked his film debut through Sankarabharanam, where he sang the song, Banno Rani. Later he sang for Telugu movies – Mister, Vaisakham, Jaidev, Luckunnodu, Fashion Designer s/o Ladies Tailor, Winner, Kittu Unnadu Jagratha, Katamarayudu, Sathamanam Bhavati, Hyper etc.
