Anthony Daasan Biography 
Anthony Daasan, also called Andony Dasan is a popular traditional folk singer from Tamil Nadu. He often features in TV shows, apart from his live performances. Since 2013 he is singing for Tamil movies also and has recorded around 25 songs till now. He often uses his powerful voice for rendering songs of fusion music such as country, jazz, electronica and rock styles. Prior to his debut as a playback singer, he mostly performed folk music in association with artists performing traditional Nadaswaram, Thavil and Thappu. He travels & performs with his electronic folk-fusion Band - "Anthonyin party”.
He belongs to Reddypalayam, Tanjore, Tamil Nadu into a family which performed music traditionally. He didn’t take any formal learning in music. In fact he started performing to financially support the family. His father was a disabled Nadaswaram musician. During his early days he performed in churches. This 38-year old folk artist owns a band, "AnthonyIn Party" which explores traditional forms of art. His co-performers are also dressed in a traditional way. He travels from one place to another for delivering performances.
Though associated only with traditional art and music forms earlier, since his film debut as a playback singer, he has also collaborated with many artists to give fusion music. Through his works he works on combining rustic folk styles and the experimental contemporary styles together. He plays a significant role in bringing folk songs from rural villages and presents it before the urban.
Apart from singing and dancing he also plays a few music instruments while performing. He also juggles and does acrobats delivering energetic performance. He has also done a few cameo roles onscreen for the songs he performed. The best instant is Jigarthanda."Kaasu Panam" song for the movie - Soodhu Kavvum in 2013 was his first break to playback singing. "Erangi Vandhu" of Kathakali is his recent song.
