Anoop Sankar Biography 
Anoop Sankar is a playback singer, VJ, RJ and media personality associated with south Indian entertainment. From singing to acting, this versatile artist has dabbled with different forms of entertainment. Anoop is also a well-known stage performer. He is predominantly associated with Malayalam movies and television shows, and has successfully anchored many hit shows over the years. His acting career began as a playback singer in 2003 through the movie, Choonda, where he rendered his voice for the song, Thayirkudam composed by Mohan Sitara. After that he branched into different forms of entertainment, and is a popular media personality among Malayali audiences. He has hosted over 1500 episodes of different shows on Television.
Anoop Sankar was born on 22 May 1979 in Kottayam, Kerala. His parents T.A Sankar and Latha Sankar are ardent music lovers, and his mother is a trained vocalist. He started learning Carnatic music at the age of six from Chalappuram Pappa, under whom he learnt for next 12 years. After graduation he moved to Chennai where he continued with his training classes under Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan. After IT studies, he married Viji Viswanathan, a playback singer in 2009.
He won the popular musical talent hunt “Sapthaswarangal" aired on Sun TV in 2002, and came to limelight. Same year he made his name to Guinness World Records, along with 20 other musicians for the longest musical performance spanning over 40 hours at the Santhome Monfort School Auditorium, Chennai. He gained recognition as a successful TV host through shows like Star Singer (2006), Junior idol in 2011, Musical chair in 2010, Vodafone Thakadhimi, VJ Plus etc. Anoop made his debut in Tamil playback singing through "Agarram"."Kurutham Kettavan" is his most popular single.
