Annamanada Parameswara Marar Biography 
Annamanada Parameswara Marar was a legendary percussionist from the southern state of Kerala, who played Thimila, one of the instruments used for Panchavadyam in temple festivals of Kerala. A maestro of panchavadyam, this veteran was one of the foremost artists of modern-day Pooram. He passed away on 12th June 2019 aged 67. He was suffering from respiratory diseases. He has been a part of Madathin Varavu of Thrissur Pooram for the past 45 years, and has been serving as Pramani (leader) for last 14 years. He last participated in 2016 Thrissur Pooram, and has been staying away from festivals for the last three years for diabetics related issues.
Annamanada Parameswara Marar hails from Annamanada of Thrissur district. He was born in 1952 to Raman Nair and Parukutty. He was married and had three children, dedicated to the field of art. He studied from Kerala Kalamandalam. After studies, he has served as a guru of Thimila instrument in Kerala Kalamandalam, and during this term he renovated the syllabus of the instrument too. For the past 45 years, he has been a part of Thrissur Pooram, as a member of Thiruvambady group, and since 2003 served as the leader of the group. He learnt this musical instrument from Annamanada Parameswara Marar, Pallavur Maniyan Marar and Pallavur Kunjikuttan Marar.
He has been associated with famous Pallavur brothers and Chottanikkara Narayana Marar for temple festivals. He was a recipient of Pallavur Puraskaram 2018, given by government of Kerala. He has been honoured by Kerala Sangeeta Nadaka Acadamy with award and fellowship, Kerala Kalamandalam Puraskaram, Guruvayurappan Puraskar and many other honours. He died in a private hospital in Kochi in 2019.
