Amit Bhargav Biography

Amit Bhargav is a south Indian actor and dubbing artist, known for his association with Tamil and Kannada languages. Most notably an actor, he currently appears in the Tamil serial, Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai on Vijay TV. Partially based on Manju Kapur's famous novel Custody, Amit portrays the lead role of Arjun Swaminathan in the series. Noted television actress cum anchor, Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead and it is one of the high rated television series of Tamil channels at present. Amit plays the lead role of a divorcee in the series. He was noticed in a short role in Bollywood film – 2 States based on Chetan bhagat’s novel.

 

He was born in Bangalore in November 26, 1989. Amit started his career with south Indian television. He first appeared for a Kannada series - "Seethe" on Udaya TV in which he played the lead role of Lord Rama. While he goes to temples, people used to gather around him; some used to tell their woes while others seek his blessings. It was his first major break, which later gave him several ads and television serials. He was mostly featured in south Indian ads. Vizhi Moodi Yosithal and Yennamo Yedho are his noted Tamil film appearances.

 

Among all his roles till now, Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai is the most appreciated one and his pairing with Priya Bhavani Shankar has earned him awards for best Jodi on Tamil small screen. He has rendered his voice for the hit reality show, Bigg Boss Season 2 in Kannada and has worked as a dubbing artist for Abhimanyu Singh and Harish Uthaman for Thalaivaa (2013) and Thani Oruvan (2015) respectively. The actor studied Law before getting into acting full-time. Now Amit is all set to play Lord Krishna in Mahabharatham, directed by Suresh Krishna.
