Abhinav Chaturvedi Biography

Abhinav Chaturvedi - ‘Nanhe’ in India’s first soap opera “Hum Log” is an entrepreneur at present has incepted his own production and event management company. He is also a cricketer, director, anchor, entertainer and Thailand's brand Ambassador. He also owns his own film production company, A V Networks Private Limited. He has also portrayed a few character roles on Bollywood screen. He played supporting roles in Yodha, Saudagar, Parbat Ke Us Paar, Bhrashtachar, Jeevan Ek Sanghursh, Baaz, Suryavanshi etc in the late 1980s and early 1990s. An all-rounder he is quite active in event management and has close contacts with celebrities belong to different fields.

 

He was born and brought up in Delhi. His father Abhay Chaturvedi was a journalist and cricket commentator. Abhinav completed graduation in History from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. In those days he was quite active in cricket and has served as the captain of the Delhi Under-19 Cricket team. He was also a member of “Indian School Boys” cricket team to tour West Indies. He has also played Ranji matches and received training from good names of cricket. But it was his entry to television which changed his life.

 

He became a part of legendary serial, “Hum Log” and shares many nostalgic moments associated with it, even 30 years after it was aired. He played the small role of ‘Nanhe’ in the serial. Roles – big or small, whoever associated with this serial has written their names in golden letters in the history of Indian television serials. He received a watch that time and it’s still working! The show scripted by Manohar Shyam Joshi gave birth to stars, even bigger than film stars. The artists were mobbed in the public and were treated as kings. Chaturvedi got Rs 500 per episode and it was more than the amount given to A-grade artists of Doordarshan in those days. He was a part of India’s second soap - Ramesh Sippy's Buniyaad, in a pivot role.
