Aarti Mukherji Biography 
Aarti Mukherji is a famous playback singer of Bollywood who has won Filmfare awards and National awards for the song ‘Do naina ek kahani’ of Masoom (1983) music composed by R.D.Burman. She is a successful singer of Bengali movies as well. Her songs of Hindi movies – Geet gata chal, Ek baar kaho, Rang birangi, Tapasya, Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli, Khamoshi and Manokamna are also so popular. She was most busy in the industry during late 70’s and early 80’s. She has rendered her voice for a few movies in Oriya and Gujarati as well.
Aarti Mukherji (also known as Arati Mukhopadhyay) hails from Bengali. She is a trained classical singer and she started her career through Bengali movies. She won the music contest, "Metro-Murphy Contest". Judges of this contest were Anil Biswas, Naushad, Vasant Desai and C. Ramchandra. They were impressed by her singing talent and it paved her way to Hindi movies. Apart from filmy songs, she has numerous album songs in her credit.

A few of her Bengali hits are - Tomar Dake Sara Dite, Ei Mom Jochhonay Ango Bhijiye, Ek Baishakhe Dekha Holo Dujanay , Takhon Tomar Ekush Bachhar, Banya Banya E Aranya, Laje Ranga Holo Kone Bou Go, Lajja, Mori Mori Eki Lajja , Khola Janala, Bou Katha Kao, Takhon Tomar Ekush Bachhar, Jale Nebo Na and Madhobi Modhupey Holo Mitali.
