Barkha Bisht Sengupta Biography

Barkha Bisht Sengupta is a successful television actress and television host. She hosted Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe on Sony Entertainment Television. She is married to actor and co-star Indraneil Sengupta. They together have acted in television soaps - Pyaar ke do naam...Ek Radha Ek Shyaam and Doli Saja Ke. Most recently she appeared in a cameo in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in which she appeared as Kesar, Ranveer Singh's sister-in-law (Meghji's widow). She is also popular in Bengali cinema and has done a few item songs for Bollywood. Rajneeti is one such Bollywood film. She is also known as an excellent dancer and performs for many functions.

Barkha was born in the year, 28 December 1979 as a daughter of a military officer, a Colonel. Her childhood days were spent travelling from one place to another and studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya belonging to different places. She is the youngest of three sisters, the eldest being a hotel management professional and the elder a fashion designer. She was also voted as the NDA Queen, in Dec 2000. She married her co-star Indraneil Sengupta in 2008 after a courtship of 2 years. In 2011, a baby girl was born to the couple and given the name, Meera.

Her television debut happened in the year 2004 with Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, aired on MTV India and she hosted the program for about 2 years. Pyaar ke do naam...Ek Radha Ek Shyaam marked her debut as a television actress where she played the lead role opposite Indraneil Sengupta. She has also hosted Popkorn on Zoom TV. Later she appeared in television soaps like Kavyanjali, Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai, Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi, Sajan Ghar Jaana Hai and Babul Ki Bitiya Chali Doli Saja Ke.
