Gopinath is known for his talk show Neeya Nana (you or me?), a debate show on Vijay TV. It is a show for the talented people who are good at arguing and giving their works and opinions. He is the popular Neeya Nana Gopi, and was later known as Sigaram Thotta Manithargal. Being well versed in Tamil as well as English, his knowledge on current affairs is an added advantage

Being of Tamil origin and having a heavy Tamil accent he knows the importance of communication skills, and so along with his talk show he is also helping students to have better communication skills and speak English fluently. The wish to impart this knowledge to a large number of students was materialized when ‘Talk shop academy of education’ was set up. This institution has memorandum of understandings with various other educational institutes and he arranges guest lectures and various technical support to help students develop better communication skills

He is also a very well acclaimed writer and has written books like Theruvellam Thevathaigal a collection of poems and other verses and another book on personality development, namely Please Indha Puthakatha Vaangatheenga, he got international fame when he was invited by the American government to participate in the internationals visitor program. He then got awards from India today magazine for being a young achiever, the best anchor of the state by Ananda Vikathan was just a feather in his cap. He is a popular person on the small screen especially among Tamil show viewers.
