Narkanda is a beautiful hill station located near Shimla at an elevation of 2708 meters above sea level. From here you can have the stunning view of the Himalayan mountain ranges. This location remains undisturbed by the bustling city life and is noted for its tranquility.

Narkanda has dense forests and tourists can enjoy walking though them. This is a good place for trekking and the best time to visit is during winter season. There is a ski resort in Narkanda and this was established in 1980. You can enjoy skiing if you visit the place in winter.

Hattu peak is at a height of 2000 feet above Narkanda and Hattu Mata Temple is located here. Thanedar is a village near Narkanada and this is called as the fruit bowl of Himachal Pradesh because of the magnificent apple orchards found here. Tani-Jubbar Lake and Kotgarh are other prime specialties.
