Powai Lake is an artificial lake situated in the suburbs of Mumbai on Salsette Island. The lake spreads over an area of about 2.1 square kilometers and its depth varies from 12 meters to 3 meters and the water of the lake was once used to meet the drinking needs of Mumbai and then it became unfit to drink. However this is one of the important tourist attractions of Mumbai.

Powai Lake rejuvenation programs were carried out and many trees were planted around it. The docks were installed and boats and canoes were deployed. Allocation of annual maintenance funds has to some extent restored the original pristine of the lake. The gardens, pathways and walkways are added attractions.
