JiJamta Udyaan is also called Veermata Jijabai Bhonsle Udyan. It is a zoo and garden which were established in 1861. This is one of the oldest zoos in India and was formerly known as Rani Bagh or Victoria Gardens. There is a museum known as Bhau Daji Lad Museum within its premises.

 

The garden spreads over an area of 48 acres of land and there is a prominent clock tower at its entrance. The clock is not in operation right now. The zoo is called Mumbai Zoo and has many rare species of animals and birds. The museum houses many archaeological artifacts.
