Flora Fountain in Mumbai

Flora Fountain is a beautiful monument at the southern end of the Dadabhai Naoroji Road and is noted for its ornamentally designed architectural style. It was built n 1864 and was dedicated to the Roman Goddess Flora. When it was built, it was named Sir Bartle Frere who served at that time as the Governor of Bombay. Later it was renamed Flora Fountain.
The open air tourist buses are provided by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation from which one can get an aerial view of the iconic fountain and relish its beauty. Within a short distance of Flora Fountain, is located the University of Mumbai, the Gateway of India, Old Secretariat Building and the Bombay High Court.
