Crawford Market is one of the famous markets of South Mumbai. Arthur Crawford was the first Municipal Commissioner and this market was named after him. Later it was renamed Mahatma Jotirao Phule Market.

The market has many sections, that selling fruits and vegetables, imported items, household items and even there is a separate pets market within it. The market spreads over an area of 72000 square yards and is noted for its Gothic and Norman style of architecture. The construction of this building was completed in 1869. The Victorian styled Clock Tower is very famous. Bargaining is an important rule here.
