Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam is one of the largest temple tanks in South India. There is an island pavilion in the center and the Vinayakar temple is situated in the middle of the tank. The underground channels connect this tank with the Vaigai River. There are 12 long steps on all four sides built of granite. These steps and the temple were built during the regime of Thirumalai Nayak. The Float Festival conducted in the month of Thai is celebrated here in a grand manner.
