Thirupparankundram Temple is a rock cut temple dedicated to Lord Subramanya. This is the holy abode of Lord Murugan and was built in 8th century by Pandyan Kings. It has the shrines for Lord Vinayaka, Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Durga and many other deities. The temple entrance has cubical pillars with lotus medallions.

This temple is considered to be the auspicious place for conducting marriages because it is believed that the marriage of Devasena, the daughter of Lord India and Lord Subramanya was conducted here. During the months of March and April, 14 day festival is conducted here to celebrate the victory of Lord Muruga over the demon Suran.
