Koodal Azhagar Temple is one of the 108 divyadesams of the Lord Vishnu. The famous temple of Lord Vishnu is located here. Madurai was also called Koodal Managar. Azhagar means beautiful person in Tamil language and so this temple is dedicated to the beautiful person of Madurai, Lord Vishnu. It is located near the famous Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple.
