Gandhi Memorial Museum was built to preserve the exhibits that have relevance to the life of Mahatma Gandhi. There is a picture gallery that presents the visual biography of Gandhi with photos, sculptures, paintings and manuscripts. The personal belongings of Gandhi are preserved in the hall of relics. There is a khadi and village industries section in the ground floor where you can see various exhibits related to the village industries, handicraft products, etc.
In the southern direction of the museum, there is a big open air theatre that can accommodate about 8000 people. Film shows, public meetings and cultural programs are conducted here. In front of the main building you can see the Gandhi Kudir which is the replica of his hut at Sevagram. There is also a library in its northern wing with more than 18,000 books,27,000 letters of Gandhiji and 62 reels of micro films.
