Yesudasan Biography 
Yesudasan is a noted cartoonist and writer from Bharanikavu, Kerala. His full name is Chackalethu John Yesudass. He has been associated with the famous Shankar's Weekly in Delhi. He is also a noted author and published four books till now - Aniyara, Pradhama Dhrusti, Post Mortem and Varayile Nayanar. He has a cartooning career spanning to more than five decades. He has also served as Chairman Kerala Cartoon Academy (co-founder), Chairman of Lalit Kala Academy and also Member of Kerala Sahitya Academy. Yesudasan has scripted two Malayalam movies and wrote the dialogues of the satire movie - Panchavadi Palam. 'Kittumman' is his popular cartoon character.
Chackalethu John Yesudass was born on June 12, 1938 in Bharanikavu near Mavelikkara, Kerala. He currently resides in Kochi with his wife. He has three children. He published his first cartoon from Kottayam. It was published in a magazine called Asoka in the year 1955. He got actively involved with the world of cartoons since early 1960s and has now completed 55 years in this profession. He started his professional career in the year 1960 as a cartoonist for Janayugom, a Malayalam daily supported by Communist Party of India. He later joined Shankar's Weekly in Delhi and portrayed a new cartoon character, 'Kittumman' which made him a popular cartoonist.
Since late 1960s he served as an editor for a few magazines before he joined Malayala Manorama group in 1985 as staff cartoonist. Since then he drew cartoons for various publications of Malayala Manorama group for many years. He won Best cartoonist of the year award from Thiruvananthapuram Press Club for two years - 1990 and 1992. The Cartoonist of The Year Award of National Film Academy in 1998, Millennium Award for Best Cartoonist 2000 and Cartoonist of The Decade Award from the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam are other major honours received by him. Varayile Nayanar - a collection of cartoons on famous politician EK Nayanar was released by Dr Manmohan Singh.
