Usha Srinivasan Biography 
Usha Srinivasan commonly known as Usha is an exponent of Kuchipudi dance form. She hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She learnt the dance form from many gurus and also Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. Usha started performing at a young age and has performed across India as well as a few cities in abroad. She is a recipient of Sangeeta Nataka Akademi Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for dedication towards Kuchipudi dance. She has won Natyamayuri Award, and many awards at state and national levels, and a National scholarship for young artists too.
Her birth name is Usharani S. She is of Hyderabad origin, born in Chennai in 1966. P. Srinivasan and S. Raajyalaxmi are her parents, who encouraged her to pursue a career in dance form. She got inspired from Shobha Naidu and Sree & Smt Raja and Radha Reddy, and later took up the dance form. Her mother is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. She received training in Kuchipudi from Pasumarthi Sheshubabu, Bhagavatula Sethuram, Uma ramarao, Chinta aadinarayana Sharma, Vedantam Radhe Sharma etc. She took Master’s in Kuchipudi from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University Hyderabad, before she started off with independent career.
She started performing solo dances in her 20s. Almost at the same time she started choreographing dance pieces too. Currently she runs a dance school by Sree Raja Rajeswari Arts Academy, in Tirupathi, and also works as a Kuchipudi lecturer at Tirumal Tirupathi Devasthanam. In 2005 she received a doctorate from Tunanathmaka Pariseelana. She is still active teaching students, and in the role of an administrator. Many of her students have succeeded in this field and performed at many cultural events and dance festivals arranged across India.
