Tej Pratap Singh Yadav Biography

Tej Pratap Singh Yadav is an Indian politician and Member of Parliament, representing Samajwadi Party. He successfully contested Lok Sabha elections 2014 from Mainpuri constituency of Uttar Pradesh, winning from Samajwadi Party. He belongs to a prominent political family of Bihar. Mulayam Singh Yadav is his great uncle. He is married to Rajlaxmi Yadav, the youngest daughter of former Bihar chief ministers, Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi. They got married in 2015. Through this marriage, two prominent political Yadav families of Bihar became close relatives. Son-in-law of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, he is now the brother-in-law of Yadav siblings – Misha Bharti, Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, noted young politicians associated with state politics.

Tej Pratap Singh Yadav was born to Ranveer Singh and Mridula Yadav on 21 November 1987 in Saifai, Uttar Pradesh. His grandfather, Ratan Singh Yadav was the elder brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Thus he is Mulayam’s grand-nephew. He is the nephew of prominent leader, Akhilesh Yadav. He got married to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter in 2015, and is blessed with a son. His brother-in-laws - Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav currently serve as MLAs in state assembly, while his sister-in-law Misha Bharti is a Rajya Sabha member.

Tej Pratap Singh Yadav holds an MBA degree from Leeds University in the UK. He joined active politics after returning to India. He contested 2014 Lok Sabha elections at the age of 26, and got elected. He contested the elections as a Samajwadi Party candidate, and currently serves his MP term. He is the seventh member from Yadav’s family to have been a member of the Lok Sabha, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Akshay Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Ramgopal Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav being the other members.
