T. P. M. Mohideen Khan Biography 
T. P. M. Mohideen Khan is an Indian politician from Tamil Nadu belonging to DMK party. He served as Minister for Environment in Tamil Nadu state during 2006–2011 under the leadership of K. Karunanidhi. He currently serves as the MLA of Palayamkottai State Assembly Constituency and assumed the office in 2011. He won 2001 and 2006 state assembly elections from the same seat. He has been elected to Tamil Nadu state assembly for three times continuously from the same constituency - Palayamkottai. T. P. M. Mohideen Khan is a businessman too.
Khan was into business before joining active politics, in association with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party. He got inspired by the political movements by prominent leaders of DMK - C. N. Annadurai and M. Karunanidhi, and decided to join the party. He got drawn towards their ideologies when they opposed to make Hindi as an official language in Tamil Nadu and conducted meetings and rallies across the state. He joined Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam as volunteer, and trained many people during his early days. Later he took more interest in administration and leadership, and reached positions of MLA and cabinet minister, within the regional party.
When Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam came to power, he got cabinet position for the first time in 2006. A three-term MLA from Palayamkottai State Assembly Constituency, he was inducted to state cabinet by M. Karunanidhi in 2006, when he was given the portfolio, Environment. He implemented Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board during his tenure as state minister. He is not a leader free of controversies. When a policeman was attacked by gangsters in 2010, he along with Minister for Health M. R. K. Panneerselvam didn’t get out of their car, so that the injured person could be rushed to nearby hospital. Later the policeman succumbed to injuries.
