Srinwanti Chakrabarti Biography 
Srinwanti Chakrabarti is an Odissi dancer performer and choreographer of Bengal origin. She worked in England for several years as a dance educator, choreographer and performer, and later opened a dance school at Kolkata, where she is continuing with her dance classes. The dance institute has been named as Srijati. She has also performed and held workshops and demonstrations across the globe. She is one of the most talented and successful female artists of present generation, performing Odissi. She has been associated with dance forms for nearly 2 decades.
Srinwanti Chakrabarti was born on 14 September 1983 in Bardhaman, West Bengal. Her early education was done at her hometown, and the family got shifted to capital city later. She completed her college education from Kolkata, where she completed graduation and post-graduation. She was initiated into the dance form at five, and she took initial lessons from her mother. She was later groomed by Sutapa Talukdar and Nandini Ghoshal. When she reached her teens around 15 years, she turned a professional dancer. She got opportunity to learn from the celebrated and acclaimed artist Kelucharan Mohapatra, and after that her career witnessed a new turning point towards success and stardom. Her decision to become a dancer was well supported by her parents.
She has also pursued research works related to Indian classical dance forms. She prepared the thesis Hindu temple Women (Devdasi) - The Divine Prostitution. But due to her busy schedule in professional career, she couldn’t complete her doctorate studies. Now a very inspirational young teacher, she also choreographs for her shows. She moved to Paris in 2010, where she set up a dance institute, Srijati. It owns a branch in Kolkata as well.
