Sreelakshmy Govardhanan Biography 
Sreelakshmy Govardhanan is a famous classical dancer from Kerala, who performs Kuchipudi. She is also a choreographer of dance pieces, and has choreographed for the Malayalam movies - Kanyaka Talkies and Priyamanasam. She has been given the title ‘Kalashree’ from Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi state award, and many more awards. Binfeild Endowment from Narada Gana Sabha Chennai, Bharatham Yuva Kalakar, Kala Ratna, Singar Mani, Natya Ratna, Nalanada Nrutya Nipuna etc are a few more. She has travelled across the globe promoting this dance form.
She was born on June 1st, 1980 in Thrissur, Kerala. Irinjalakuda is her hometown. She took formal lessons in Kuchipudi from Pasumarthy Rattaiaha Sarma, Vyjayanti Kashi and Srimati Manju Barggavee. She learnt the most authentic form of this art form, from the roots, which helped her to earn fame of international repute. Though she was born in Kerala, she travelled through different places of Andhra Pradesh to get more authenticated learning. That’s how she was lucky enough to learn this dance form from Pasumarthy Rattaiaha Sarma, who mastered this technique in purist version. Her grace, exquisite footwork and acting technique made her an extremely popular artist of present times. She is known as “a dancer who has harnessed the power of Abhinaya”.
She is a graded artist of Doordarshan, and different cultural organizations have bestowed her different titles to promote her work and dedication. In 2015 she performed before India’s PM Narendra Modi as the lead of the Kuchipudi team at the ‘Make in India’ program at Germany. She is a trained professional psychologist too. She has conducted workshops, lectures and demonstrations in Kuchipudi in many countries across the world.
