Smitha Madhav Biography 
Smitha Madhav is a Carnatic Classical Singer and Bharatanatyam Dancer from Hyderabad, South India. She has been credited 4 choreographed dance pieces too. Raagam Raaghavam: A solo thematic Bharatanatyam presentation, Navasandhi: A dance tribute to the Dikpalas, Kesadi Paadam: A work using pure dance, instrumentation and Aahaarya presenting Lord Krishna’s life and Sri Venkata Gireesham Bhaje: A multi-lingual solo choreographic work that traces the pilgrims progress from Tirupati to Tirumala are her wonderful works. Smitha was honored with the Akkineni Nageswara Rao Swarna Kanakam award in 2011. Smitha played the lead role of Seetha in the feature film Bala Ramayanam (1996) and most recently played the female lead in Prithvi, a bi-lingual (Bengali and Telugu) art film directed by Sisir Sahana.
Smitha Madhav belongs to Hyderabad. Smitha began learning Carnatic vocal music at the age of 4 and gave her first public performance in 1994. She studied in the tradition of the Guru Shishya Sampradaya. Through several years of training, she mastered Sruthi, Swara, Raga and Thala, the four vital elements of Carnatic music. Her energetic, lively and enthusiastic performance has gathered appreciations through her concerts. Smitha has been trained in Bharatanatyam by Guru Nritya Choodamani Smt Rajeswari Sainath. Now she is doing advanced training in Carnatic Classical music under famous Hyderabad Sisters.
Smitha has a Diploma program in Music and Dance from the Telugu University. She is currently pursuing the Masters' Program in Dance from the Indirakala Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya and for Music from the Madras University. Smitha has performed in all major sabhas all over India and has also performed in many foreign countries. She has also hosted a few shows on south Indian television, Jayam Manade on Gemini TV, Sangeetha Sangamam and Krishna Vijayam on Vijay TV to name a few.
