Sanjeev Bhaskar Biography 
Sanjeev Bhaskar is a British comedian, actor and broadcaster of Indian origin. His ancestral home is now in Pakistan. He presented and starred in a documentary series called ‘India with Sanjeev Bhaskar’, where he travelled throughout India as well as his ancestral home in Pakistan. BBC Two comedy series -Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No. 42 as a host made him a popular television artist. He is married to theatre personally, Meera Syal whose parents belong to Punjab, now settled in England. In 2003, Bhaskar was listed in ‘The Observer‘ as one of the 50 funniest actors in British comedy.
Bhaskar was born in Ealing, London in 31 October 1963 and brought up at Hounslow, west London. His father was a factory supervisor for Nestle, and mother, a bookkeeper. He earned a degree in marketing from the Hatfield Polytechnic. Then he started his career as a marketing executive at IBM. But very soon he realized that business is not his field and identified ‘Comedy’ to be his best profession. He joined hands with his friend Nitin Sawhney, to start a musical comedy double act called "The Secret Indians (non-Asian)". They performed it for the first time in 1996 and performance was featured on a BBC magazine show called Reportage. It marked the beginning of this comedy actor. A show at the Oval House venue in South London was their breakthrough performance and there was no turning back till now.
In 2005 he married Meera Syal, who plays his grandmother in The Kumars at No. 42 and was his co-star in Anita and Me. Their son, Shaan, was born in December same year. Syal was earlier married to Shekhar Bhatia, whom she divorced in 2002. Bhaskar was one of 48 celebrities who signed a letter warning against Conservative Party policy toward the BBC before the general election – 2010.
