Sandhya Menon Biography

Sandhya Menon is an Indian American author based in Colorado, USA. She mostly writes young adult fiction for teenagers, and her personal experiences during her teens have also attributed towards her writings. When Dimple Met Rishi and From Twinkle, with Love are her most popular books and New York Times bestseller too. When Dimple Met Rishi was her debut book published in 2017. Her second book From Twinkle, with Love was published last year in 2018, and both her works have been well-received.

Sandhya Menon is of Indian origin, and she was brought up in India, where she completed her early education. She moved to the US in her teens at the age of 15. A die-hard fan of Bollywood films, she has been influenced by both Indian and western culture. She is a die-hard fan of A. R. Rahman also. She loves Indian street food, sweets and desserts. Even after settling in US, she has not left her love towards Bollywood films and insists her husband and children to watch her favourite movies. She is also obsessed to Pani Puri dish and Bollywood dance moves. When she shifted to US in her teens, growing up a teenager in two different cultures didn’t make things any easier.

Since young she dreamt to become a writer, while she had to study medicine to fulfil her parents’ dreams. She later married her childhood friend and is currently settled at Colorado Springs, Colorado, with her husband and two children. Her husband was her best friend during her school days. Now they are happily married for more than 15 years. Her husband Rishi is associated with comic art. Her acclaimed work - When Dimple Met Rishi is about two Indian-American teens whose parents want to arrange their marriage.
