S. Madhusudhana Chary Biography

S. Madhusudhana Chary is an Indian politician from Telangana who formerly served as an MLA. He served as the First speaker of Telangana Legislative Assembly between 9 June 2014 and 6 September 2018. He won 2014 state assembly elections, when he got elected from Bhupalapalli constituency in Warangal. Before he joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi, he was a long term member of Telugu Desam Party, holding many decorative positions within regional politics. He lost 2018 state assembly elections held in December.

S. Madhusudhana Chary was born in Warangal, Telangana in 1962. His father’s name is Venkatanarasaiah, and he belonged to the village Narsakkapalli. His younger days were spent in his hometown where he completed his schooling and post-graduation in English literature. He joined Telugu Desam in 1982 and has been associated with the regional party for more than three decades. He got elected to Andhra Pradesh state assembly for the first time in 1994 from Shyampet in Warangal district. He completed a term of 5 years.

Since the first term as MLA he remained in limelight for the approach he used for handling different situations and problems. He brought a bottle of pesticide to the Legislative Assembly at a time when tension was so high due to the committed suicides by cotton farmers. He stood with Telengana movement even while many members were forbidden to use the word within state assembly. He has been working with K. Chandrashekar Rao since early 2000s even before TRS party was officially launched shortly. He advocated Telangana statehood movement. Though he won Bhupalapalle seat in 2014 state assembly elections, he lost the same seat in 2018.
