Riti Pathak Biography

Riti Pathak is an Indian politician from the state of Madhya Pradesh, affiliated to Bharatiya Janata Party. She currently serves as a parliamentarian representing Sidhi in Madhya Pradesh. It’s her second term as parliamentarian. She got elected for the first time from Sidhi seat in 2014 general elections, and retained the seat in 2019 general elections too. In 2019 she won Lok Sabha seat for the second time by a margin of 2,86,524 votes. She defeated UDF candidate, Shri Ajay Singh this time.

 

Riti Pathak was born on 1 July 1977 in Village Khatkhari of District Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. Riti Pandey is her maiden name, and she was born to Shyama Pandey and Ramkaran Dev Pandey. Her father is a lawyer. She was brought up in Rewa. Following her father’s footsteps, after completing graduation, she also did LLB. She completed her all three NCC certificates by her graduation, during her academic years. She was Joint Secretary at GDC in 1994-95. She got married to Rajneesh Pathak in 1977 at the age of only 20, and has two kids. She completed her post-graduation and law studies after her marriage.

 

She is involved with social activities of her local area, and later joined politics. While serving as a parliamentarian, she has held some elite posts also. During her first term of 5 years she served as a member of both Standing Committee on Coal and Steel, Empowerment of Women and Consultative Committee, Ministry of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Sanitation. She has also been a member of Committee on Public Accounts and Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh. Apart from a politician, she is also an advocate by profession.
