Revanth Reddy Biography

Revanth Reddy is an Indian politician from Telangana state, belonging to Indian National Congress.  He was earlier associated with Telugu Desam party till 2017. He served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Telangana during 2014–2018. He resigned his membership in Assembly in September 2018 following the switch over from TDP to INC. Reddy has been elected twice on TDP ticket in 2009 and 2014. But he shifted his loyalties to the Congress in October 2017. He is the prime accused in the vote for note case that rocked the State in 2015. He represented Kondangal constituency before his resignation.

Anumula Revanth Reddy was born on 8 November 1969 at Kondareddy Pally of Mahboobnagar district, Telangana. Since school days he got drawn towards politics and was a leader of student union since then. He is married to the niece of prominent Congress politician, Jaipal Reddy, at the age of 24. Revanth took Bachelor of Arts from A. V. College, Osmania University in 1992 and was a member in ABVP since then. He got married in 1992. His active political career started in 2004 in his 30s. He joined Telugu Desam party and remained an active politician of the party till he resigned his membership in legislature in 2018.

In 2006 he was not given a ticket by TDP, and he won state assembly elections as an independent candidate. He was elected Member of Legislative Council MLC as an independent candidate two years later, and he joined TDP. He has been elected as an MLA from Kodangal in 2009 and 2014. His sharp tongue has gained him the popularity as a firebrand of TTDP.
