Reela Hota Biography 
Reela Hota is an Odissi dance performer and teacher from Balasore, Odisha. She is a recipient of Sanatan Nritya Puraskar. She is also known as an art promoter and producer. Known to be a trendsetter, she incorporates Yoga, Kundalini and Sanskrit in her choreographed dance works, thus providing it a spiritual aspect. She also does fusion works incorporating other classical dance fors of India. One of her masterpiece creations is Rabindra Abhivyakti, which included the dance steps and ideas of Manipuri, Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Chhau dance forms. She is the daughter of Purna Chandra Hota, a bureaucrat and civil servant, and his wife Bijoylaxmi Hota, a Yoga expert and author of several books on Yogic therapy.
Reela Hota was born in Balasore, Odisha. Currently she is settled in Delhi where she is busy with her professional life, both performances and teaching other students. She is the daughter of Yoga Guru, Bijoylaxmi Hota and UPSC officer Purna Chandra Hota. For the same season she has been exposed to yoga and other spiritual practices since childhood. She has two siblings - Reema Hota Singh, an Indian revenue Service Officer and Prasenjeet Hota.
Reela was initiated to the world of dance forms at the age of 8, when she began training in Odissi under Guru Gangadhar Pradhan. She later took advanced training from Gurvi Madhavi Mudgal and the legenday Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. When Reela began with her performances, she tried to incorporate Indian spiritual philosophy into her art pieces, and earned recognition. She is an A-grade artist and promoter of art of different forms. She has also choreographed several fusion dances. In 2014, Reela worked with Jason Macdonald. She produced and performed in "Ramleela in Opera".
