Rayapati Sambasiva Rao Biography 
Rayapati Sambasiva Rao is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh who currently serves as a Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha since 2014. He belongs to Telugu Desam Party. He became a Rajya Sabha member only at the age of 39, one of the youngest members ever. He remained a member of 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th Lok Sabha, thus serving 5 terms. A veteran member of his party, he represents the Narasaraopet parliamentary constituency of Andhra Pradesh right now. He is also addressed as Rao in his political career.
Rayapati Sambasiva Rao hails from Unguturu, Andhra Pradesh. Unguturu village belongs to Amaravathi Mandal in Guntur District. He was born into a middle-class family into a family of farmers, as the first child to his parents. He has 6 younger siblings. He completed his Secondary Education from Tadikonda and graduated from New Science College, Hyderabad. He got inclined towards Social Service and politics during his college days. He got drawn towards the ideologies of Indira Gandhi, who then served as Indian Prime Minister. Rao was associated with local politics in Panchayat before he forayed into national level politics.
Rao was fully engaged in tobacco business and started Jaya Lakshmi Tobacco Company at Guntur, before he became fully active in politics. Later he diversified into various products like spinning of yarn, export of spices, production of electricity, construction of roads etc. He is also the founder of R.V.R. College of Engineering and College of Law Guntur. He got elected to Lok Sabha elections for the first time in 1996, and remained in power for all Lok Sabha terms except 13th.
