Ravindra Prabhat Biography

Ravindra Prabhat is a noted Indian writer. He is known as Hindi novelist, scholar, screenwriter, journalist, poet and a short story writer. He has also served as administrator, editor, and researcher who writes for daily newspaper as a historian. He has published fiction and non-fiction works, poetry collection and documentaries also. He is a successful blogger also and has won Blog Bhushan Award in 2011.

Prabhat was born on 5 April 1969 in Mahindwara, Bihar. His education was completed in his hometown itself. Later he completed geography honours from B. R. Ambedkar Bihar University in Muzaffarpur. He also holds Master of Journalism and Mass Communication degree from Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad. He started publishing his works since 1987 and his works were mainly included in newspapers. Daily News Activist and Jansandesh Times are a few of such newspapers. He has also worked as chief editor of Hindi magazines like VatVriksh and Parikalpana Samay.

In 2007, he started his experiments as a blogger through Blog Vishleshan which introduced many writers. His important novels are Taki Bacha Rahe Loktantra, Prem Na Hat Bikay and Dharati Pakad Nirdaliya. Many of his works were noted for its humour. Dharati Pakad Nirdaliya is the best instance. His critical writings include - History of Hindi Blogging, Contemporary Nepali literature and Hindi Blogging: Expression of new revolution. In 1992, he wrote the screenplay of the documentary film, Naya Bihan, a subject on Women’s education in Bihar.

Ham Safar, Mat Rona Ramjani Chacha and Smriti Shesh are his poetry collections. As a writer he has also received numerous honours and awards of which a few include - Samvad Award, Blogshri Award, Nagarjuna Birth centenary Story Award, Sahitya Shri Award, Prables Blogger peak award and Srijan Shri Award.
