Rajan M. Krishnan Biography 
Rajan M. Krishnan, also pronounced as Rajan Krishnan was a famous artist and painter from Thrissur, Kerala known for drawing nature to canvass. One of the talented young painters from Kerala who had a promising career ahead, he passed away on February 12, 2015 at a comparatively young age of 49, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. Thus his unexpected death to heart attack leaves an incomplete canvass that could have contributed a lot of nature’s portrayal with different strikes of colours. He was undergoing a treatment at his wife’s home when death took him away in the form of a heart attack. His works were concentrated in the Kochi city, and he has a special passion to draw jack fruits.
Rajan was born in 1967 in Cheruthuruthy of Thrissur district as the son of Narayani and Krishnan. He was married to Renu, who is currently on a research work on Kerala Theatre. She is a journalist and theater personality born as the daughter of writer K. V. Ramanathan, known for Children’s literature. Rajan studied at Fine Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram and doing those days itself he showed his amazing talents and creativity. He was also an obedient student in the student circle. Later too, he and his wife were closely associated with Lalitha Kala academy, where they had a good friends’ circle.
Though Rajan started off his painting, portraying the subjects of both man and nature, in the last 10 years, he fully concentrated to nature. His aim was to create a distinct style of his own. This genius with curly hair took less care in good dressing. He showcased trees, fruits, leaves, birds and lakes as different faces of nature through his paintings and ‘jack fruit’ became a common subject to many of his paintings. Each picture became a lesson or a book of nature.
