Prem Nath (architect) Biography

Prem Nath is an Indian architect who is the founder of Prem Nath and Associates, an architectural firm based in Mumbai since 1967. One of the most successful architects in the post-independent period, he is an expert of a few more fields too. Prem is also a Chartered Engineer, a Certified Valuer and Real Estate Appraiser. Some of his major works as an architect include Revolving restaurant at Ambassador Hotel Mumbai, Celebrity Homes, Cygnus world school Gujarat and Golden Palm resort, Bangalore. He completed his architecture studies from the prestigious Sir J. J. College of Architecture in 1965.

 

Prem Nath hails from Delhi, and was born in 1941. He did his schooling from Delhi. After studies he worked in an engineering firm, and during those days he developed interest in architecture. He enrolled at Sir J.J. College of Architecture, Mumbai for a diploma course and completed it in 1965 with good marks. He also earned recognition when his college project was exhibited in an exhibition and it gave him many opportunities later. After studies he started his career as an interior designer. During his early years he worked hard and used to work hard for 18–20 hours a day.

 

He opened his own firm Prem Nath & Associates in 1967, and in the past 6 decades it has handled many projects. It’s shortly called PNA now. He is an enthusiastic member of the American Society of interior designers and also a fellow of the institution of Engineers (India) Charted Engineers. India’s first Revolving Restaurant at Ambassador Hotel, Mumbai is one of his major works, and first one of this kind in the country. Bhakti Park, Residential Complex, Mumbai; HMEL Township, Bhatinda etc are a few more.
