Pradeep Kumar (politician) Biography

Pradeep Kumar is an Indian politician from the state of Uttar Pradesh, associated with Bharatiya Janata Party. He currently serves as a parliamentarian in the 17th Lok Sabha headed by Narendra Modi and represents Gangoh constituency of Uttar Pradesh. He joined BJP only in 2017, and was formerly associated with Rashtriya Lok Dal (2000–2002), Janata Party (2002–2007), Samajwadi Party (2007–2012) and Indian National Congress (2012–2017). He owns more than two decades of active involvement in politics, though associated with different political affiliations, at different points of time. He is a three-term MLA of Uttar Pradesh state assembly too.

Pradeep Kumar was born on 10 March 1969 to Kanwarpal Singh in Dudhla village of Gangoh block in Uttar Pradesh. He studied till post-graduation and is also an agriculturalist by profession. He married Sunita Chaudhary in 1999 and has two sons. Pradeep Kumar was most active in UP politics for nearly 2 decades before he turned a parliamentarian in 2019. He became an MLA for the first time soon after his marriage. He was elected as an MLA in year 2000 in the by-elections at Nakur Assembly constituency as a member of Rashtriya Lok Dal. He served in this position till 2002.

He joined state legislative assembly for the second time in 2012 in the 16th Legislative Assembly as a Congress leader, and completed a term of 5 years, followed by 17th Legislative Assembly in 2017. This time he joined the legislative assembly representing BJP. He resigned his position as MLA to contest in general elections 2019 as demanded by BJP, and got elected from Gangoh constituency as well.
