Prabhakar Kusuma Biography 
Prabhakar Kusuma was an Indian photographer. This renowned personality belongs to an extraordinary league of photographers, who became the only Indian photographer to be conferred as the Fellow of The Royal Photographic in 2018. It has been 31 years since a Telugu speaking photographer receive this honour. He was one among the four Fellows of The Royal Photographic Society (FRPS), Great Britain this year, worldwide. Unfortunately the 66-year-old passed away following a cardiac arrest the same year. He was a mentor for several budding photographers and a trusted friend to members of Telangana Photographic Society. He was known or his soft nature.
Prabhakar Kusuma’s interest in photography began in the 1970s, when as a school student. When he was introduced to dark room techniques at a young age, he was smitten by the beauty of this art. At that right moment, his mind was determined to do photography for a lifetime. Prabhakar moved to Hyderabad in 1995. To meet with his financial needs, he worked in the advertising industry, and simultaneously took other assignments as well. He loved photographing people and lifestyles which he did for personal happiness, while he worked for ad world for his financial needs.
Since 1990s, he contributed photographs to The Hindu and Business Line. ‘The Destitute’ series was showcased as a part of Indian Photography Festival 2018 held in Hyderabad. His four decade long career in photography makes him one of the most memorable photographers in the present times. A soft person, he always kept low profile, and didn’t prefer to post his photographs on social media for instant gratification. Instead through his dedication towards work, he believed in the old school technique of letting his work speak for itself.
