Neil Patel Biography 
Neil Patel is an Indian American scenic designer & production designer, who has created sets for several Broadway plays, theatre plays, Hollywood films and TV shows. His work behind one of the most expensive Indian Broadway, Mughal E Azam directed by Feroz Abbas Khan for National Centre for the Performing Arts (India) was well appreciated. In 2017, this musical won seven out of the fourteen BroadwayWorld India Awards including Best Play, Best Director and Best Costume Design. Side Man, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Dinner with Friends and Oleanna are other major works. He is a recipient of one Helen Hayes Award and two Obie Awards.
Neil Patel was born in Bangor, Gwyneth, Wales. He is of Indian Gujarati origin. His works for theater, opera and dance as a design producer and scenic designer is well-known across the world. He has also been associated with many productions which have staged in many countries. His work in television and movies has also earned him acclaim. He was associated with Bollywood movie starring Priyanka Chopra, Dil Dhadakne Do. He has also worked for American films such as Some Velvet Morning,The Path, Little Boxes, Loitering with Intent etc.
Award-winning Indian American production designer has impressed everyone with his keen sense of style, striking and elegant use of space, and telling character detail. The set design is equally important as its direction and performances, indeed. He is based in New York. He also acted as a scenic designer for the first-ever Broadway revival of J.B. Priestley’s “Time and the Conways.” His television credits include FX’s “Sex & Drugs & Rock&Roll,” the HBO series “In Treatment,” and Direct TV’s “Billy and Billie.”
