Neelam Saxena Chandra Biography

Neelam Saxena Chandra is an Indian author who writes in English and Hindi. She is a poet and has also authored children literature. She is an IES Officer of 1993 batch. She has served as Joint Secretary of Union Public Service Commission, and is currently the General Manager of Pune Metro. She writes poetry (ghazals and poems belonging to Hindi and English) and fiction. She is a record holder with the Limca Book of Records for highest number of publications in a year in English and Hindi (2015). 

 

Neelam Saxena Chandra was born on 27 June 1969 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. An author of four novels, one novella, 5 short story collections and 10 children’s book, her name was listed at 78th position among the most popular writers of India in 2014. She is a recipient of numerous awards and honours including American Embassy award, Premchand award by Ministry of Railways, Rabindranath Tagore international poetry award, Freedom award by Radio city for her lyrics and II prize for her poem by Poetry Council of India in 2016.

 

She is quite active in the present scenario with her publications, and has published numerous poems in the recent times. Some of her recent published English include - A Princess, A goal and a mole, Misty Moments, Trove of Musings, The Soul Unbound and In the Flickering of an Eye, while her most recent ghazal songs are Main Bahane Lagi Hun, Maine Rang Diye Alfaaz, Saptrangi Pari Evam Rang Birangi Kahaniyaa, Maine Tarashe hain Alfaaz, Rangi Main Tere Rang Mein, Ek Sahar Ummid Bhari, Zindagi ka Alaav, Ek Shama hardam jalti hai, Aaj baadal ban baras jaanaa hai etc.
