Narender Nath Biography

Narender Nath is a doctor in Integrated Medical Sciences. He interned with Dr AK Walia, Delhi’s finance minister. Education: Bachelor of Integrated Medical Sciences from Gandhi Ajmal Khan Medical College, Delhi. His wife Shashi Kanta is a doctor and so his eldest of their four daughters. Doctor Nath Joined active politics in 1971. Was general secretary of Shahdara Block Congress Committee up to 1977 and Leader of Opposition in MCD in 1997-1998.

He was Delhi Congress Vice-President during 1995-2004. Elected MLA in 1998, he was minister of education, power, tourism and languages in the Delhi government. He has never lost an election. He was also chairman of Trans Yamuna Development Board. Nath says all roads in his constituency are in good condition thanks to dense carpeting.

Active in Politics since 1971, General Secretary, Shahdara Block Congress Committee up to 1977, Member, Metropolitan Council during 1983-1990, Executive Member D.P.C.C during 1990-1994, and Leader of Opposition in M.C.D in 1997-1998, Vice-President D.P.C.C during 1995-2004.

Dr. Narendra nath was elected M.L.A in the Second Delhi Legislative Assembly in 1998, Was Minister of Education Technical Education Power Tourism and Languages, Govt. of Delhi during second Assembly. Re -elected M.L.A for the Third Legislative Assembly in December 2003 and in the Fourth Legislative Assembly 2008.

He was responsible for exposing corruption in Delhi Government's Indira Awards when Dr. Narendra Nath held the position of education minister. Interestingly, Doctor Nath swears by his Maruti 800, which he claims is the only car the family has.
