N. Srinivasan (digital Artist) Biography

N. Srinivasan is a digital artist from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. He is instrumental in publishing the Tamil little magazine, Mei Porul. He has co-authored Nammoduthaan Pesugirargal and is the author in the literary e-journal: Muse India. He made a conscious move from traditional tools to new methods of digital technology to express his emotions, ideas and imagination. In the year 2009, he received Kalaimamani, the most prestigious Tamil Nadu State Government Award for his outstanding contributions to the field of art and digital painting. He is the only person to have received kalimamani award in the field of Painting. In the year 2004, he has also received NSS Programme Officer Special Award. He has the Life Membership in Indian Society for Technical Education, South zone cultural centre Thanjavur, Bombay Art Society Mumbai and Jehangir Art Gallery Mumbai.

N. Srinivasan was born in Rajamannarkudi, Tamil Nadu, in 1972. He graduated in Fine Arts from University of Madras in 1996. Later he took Saiva Siddhanta Ratnam qualification (2001) and also an MA in Public Administration (2003). He served as NSS Programme Officer in School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai for 3 years since 2002 and currently works there as a Lecturer (Systems Asst.). Through his great experience in multimedia and computer graphics, he is an expert in the art of digital drawing. He breaks all the rules by mixing software and programming languages to create line, color, Texture, light and space and his work is well appreciated too.

He studied Saiva Siddhanta for 3 years at the Thiruvaduthurai Mutt and got the title "Siddantha Ratnam". Srinivasan has created the unique colours like Java Green, Sriblue, 369Red, Kurinji Violet and CholaBrown. He has participated in many National Painting Camps and workshops. Many authors have published articles on this renowned artist of colours and imagination.
