Mrinal Jha Biography

Mrinal Jha is a noted writer, who has penned script for many television shows. She is an ace writer of television shows and is the co-writer of the latest show – Naagin on Colors TV, which is rated as the most popular show on Indian television in February 2016 with the highest TRP ratings. As a serial writer, she has co-scripted many popular shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Maayka, Pyaar Ka Bandhan, Santaan, Kaahin Kissii Roz, Tum Bin Jaaoon Kahaan, Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, Amber Dhara, Chhoona Hai Aasmaan,Kasturi, Kaali- Ek Agnipariksha, Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat etc. She is married to Abhigyan Jha, a renowned writer and director. The couple together has started Undercover Utopia. She has published several books and has been associated with the literal world for more than two decades.

Her first book, November Rain released in 1994 was an instant hit and very soon the story was made to a television soap, Tum Bin Jaaon Kahan on Zee TV which was a big success. Since then she writes scripts for shows for many television channels including Doordarshan. Kaali- Ek Agnipariksha for STAR Plus is her latest work, an adaption of the famous Ruchika Girhotra Case. Dear Popples and For The Class of 2010 are among her noted published works which have received many nominations. She has published four books till now and the fourth one is The Prayer.

Mrinal is also the producer of Jay Hind – an internet platform for television shows; India's first late night standup comedy show on the internet. The television soap Mayak earned her best writer - story award in 2008 at the Gold awards function held in Dubai. She started her career as a copywriter almost a couple of decades ago and it was during the launching time of satellite channels in India when she got engaged to writing.
